Start a new career in the classroom teaching adult education. The Designated Subjects Adult Education (DSAE) Teaching Credential, accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC), authorizes you to teach courses, primarily for adults, in the subjects named on the credential; see CTC guidelines. Adult Education Credential Designated Subjects Adult Education (AE) credentialed teachers provide lifelong educational opportunities and services to adult learners. To become an Adult Education teacher, a candidate must first earn the three-year Preliminary Designated Subjects AE Credential.
The Designated Subjects Credentials Unit processes the Preliminary and Clear Career Technical Education and Adult Education Credentials as well as the Supervision and Coordination Credential for qualified candidates. Additionally, District certificated employees are required to do the following in order for Credentials unit to register their renewed clear credential with Los Angeles County Office of Education.
